According to reports from Sky News Arabia, many Hezbollah leaders, including at least one very senior leader, were injured or killed after their communication devices exploded.
The incident occurred across Lebanon, including in Beirut, where media is claiming that the IDF hacked a large number of Hezbollah’s portable communication devices (akin to pagers), and had them all explode simultaneously.
This comes after the Israeli government updates the goals of the war early this morning, to include the goal of safely returning Israeli residents of the north to their homes.
Also today, Israel thwarted a Hezbollah plot to assassinate a former senior security official.
The Israeli security cabinet is currently in intense discussions. Analysts are saying this may be the start of a larger war.
The injured Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon now number above 1,000, and include the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, who apparently also had a Hezbollah pager blow up in his pocket. No reports yet on how many dead.
Reports of similar explosions also occurred in Syria.
The IDF is simultaneously carrying out airstrikes in Southern Lebanon, and some deeper into Northern Lebanon.
Hezbollah however, has no way to communicate and coordinate a response attack, or escape.
